“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… and remember, I am with you always.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Dear Church Family,
I am Pastor Sophia. Let me start with a question—
Have you ever tried to avoid something… but the more you avoided it, the more it seemed to follow you?
Maybe it was a conversation you didn’t want to have.
Or a task you kept putting off.
Or even a truth you weren’t quite ready to face.
It has a way of showing up again, doesn’t it?
I’ve been sitting with Matthew 28:11–20. It’s a passage that holds a quiet tension—between those who receive the truth of the resurrection with openness, and those who try to twist it, reshape it, or keep it at a distance.
And I find myself somewhere in that space, reflecting on how we live with the truth of resurrection we have been given.
The resurrection is not just something we believe—it’s something that slowly works on us. Gently. Persistently. Sometimes in ways we don’t immediately recognize.
It shows up in small changes—
a little more patience than before,
a more peaceful mind before,
a willingness to begin again.
Not dramatic.
But real.
The risen Jesus speaks to us: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… and remember, I am with you always.”
There is both calling and comfort in those words.
We are invited to go—but not with pressure. It is willingness because we cannot hide that treasure of the risen Christ only inside us.
We are sent—but not alone.
I think sometimes we hear that word “go” and feel like we need to do something big or extraordinary. But more often, it looks like small, faithful steps in our everyday lives—being present, showing kindness, offering grace.
This week, I invite you to notice where life is already stirring around you.
Where a conversation might matter.
Where a simple act of care might carry more weight than you expect.
If you feel unsure, that’s okay. Faith is not about having everything figured out—it’s about staying open and walking forward in trust, even in small ways.
I look forward to being with you this Sunday as we continue to listen, reflect, and walk together in the presence of the risen Christ.
Join our service. Our church is cool even though the outside temperature is more than 90 degrees.
With grace and a little encouragement,
