$2.00 MIRACLE
When you have extra $2.00 what would you do? Your $2.00 can bring God's miracle to our church. As some of you know, our church needs a new piano. Any remaining funds will go towards utilities and missions for the church. If 45 people save $2.00 dollars per day ($256.00 per person) until our church 132 birthday on October 25, 2026 we can collect $11,520.00. This is an amazing opportunity to experience God's miracle. Please join this mission. For more information, ask Mary and Pastor Sophia.(office@pleasantvalleyumc.net)

PVUMC LAY LEADERSHIP PVUMC is entering the season when we need to establish the leadership team beginning in 2027. The Missions Committee Chair and the Lay Leader Positions are vacant now. If you feel called to serve in one of the leadership roles or serve as a member of a committee, please let Pastor Sophia and someone in the church office know. Lay Leader - represents the lay people in the congregation in working with the pastor for the mission and vision of the congregation. The lay leader also works with the pastor and other leaders to discuss the state of the church, opportunities for ministry within the community, and is a voting member of the charge conference, the church council, the staff-parish relations committee, the finance committee, and the nominations and leadership. Staff Parish Relations Committee Chair - The committee on staff-parish relations is established to encourage, strengthen, nurture, and support the clergy and lay staff's pursuit of health and wholeness. The SPRC interacts with and represents the congregation on matters with the pastor and staff. The committee provides an annual evaluation of the pastor and staff to ensure an ongoing effective ministry, as well as confer with the pastor and make a recommendation annually as to whether the church would be served by a change of pastor. Missions Committee Chair - The Missions Committee organizes, coordinates, and encourages participation in mission activities and projects affecting those beyond our church. As this committee offers mission activities, they offer the opportunity to reach out to others who are less fortunate than we are and who may not know the love of God as we do. PVUMC has supported numerous projects in the past including: Western Fairfax Christian Ministry, Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter, collected backpacks and school supplies, Angel Tree program, participated in youth and adult mission trips to various locations, as well as other outreach projects. Other committees you may be interested in that support PVUMC's ministries include Finance, Trustees, Worship, Children and Youth Ministries, and the Information Technology Team. ___________________________________________________

LIVE STREAMING SUPPORT
PVUMC's live-streaming ministry is vital to our outreach, serving over 20 online viewers each week. To consistently continue this ministry, we need more volunteers to assist with the audio-visual systems used in the church on a regular backup basis. Primarily, support to the live-streaming of our Sunday morning services is needed. No prior experience required, guidance will be provided. If you're able to help with this outreach ministry, please contact the church office.
For the youth needing community service hours, this would be a great opportunity to utilize their computer and media skills.
NEW ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
The new Adult Sunday School Class started last week and will run through August 23 from 9:45-10:45 am in the Fellowship Hall. Ruben Roa will lead the class. He will be getting his materials from various devotionals such as The Upper Room, A Closer Walk With Jesus, Every Day With Jesus among others. No additional study materials are required.
