November 23, 2021 Pleasant Valley UMC is undergoing renovations to enhance our building and grounds as a place to worship, serve and belong.  The original chapel was built in 1894 with additions of office/classrooms in 1945 and sanctuary/fellowship hall in 1991.  Phase 1 and 2 renovations are nearly completed including a much improved parking lot, new AC (heat pump capability can be added) and carpet in the Chapel (completed), a new entry door for the Chapel (awaiting availability), upgraded exterior lighting, and repairs to exterior windows and siding.

Loudoun County has approved plans and issued the building permit for Phase 3 Renovations of the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall.  Renovations  include improvements to the Sanctuary (new AV location, ceiling repairs/painting, carpet repair/cleaning) and for the Fellowship Hall new bathrooms, kitchen enhancements, new flooring, ceiling, lighting and a new upgraded nursery.   HLR Architects and Chamberlain Construction Company (General Contractor) and the Board of Trustees  have signed an updated “Repairs Scope of Work” for  undertaking and completing these renovations.

The work is scheduled to start on or soon after January 1 with an expected completion time of 3 weeks.  The Fellowship Hall will be closed during that time period.  The General Contractor has assured us that we will be able to continue to have Sunday services while the work is being undertaken and completed.

In the very near future, everyone will be able to view the plans which will be on display in the Fellowship Hall and Narthex.
