“Why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” ( Acts 1:11)
Dear Church Family,
I am Pastor Sophia. I hope you’ve had a good week—or at least a survivable one. Some weeks feel smooth and steady… and some weeks feel like you’re just trying to keep up and keep forgetting where you left your phone.
If that’s you these days, you’re not alone.
I’ve been thinking about how life doesn’t always slow down for us. There are things we carry—responsibilities, worries, decisions, and sometimes just plain exhaustion. And yet, in the middle of all that, we still show up. You show up. And that matters more than you may realize.
In Acts 1:1–11, there was a moment when the disciples are standing there, looking up, not quite sure what to do next. Honestly, I think many of us can relate to that feeling—wondering, “What now?” or “What am I supposed to do with everything going on in my life?”
If that’s you these days, you’re not alone.
What I love about this passage is that it gently nudges us forward. Not with pressure, not with guilt—but with a reminder that we’re not meant to just stand still forever. Little by little, step by step, God’s Spirit who dwells in us invites us to move, to grow, and to live with purpose—even when we don’t have everything figured out.
And the good news? We don’t have to do it perfectly.
So this Sunday, come as you are. No need to have all the answers. Just come.
Come for a moment of rest.
Come for a word of encouragement.
Come to be reminded that faith is not about having everything figured out—it’s about trusting God one step at a time.
That’s one of the best parts of being church—we don’t walk this road alone.
I’m looking forward to seeing you, sharing this time of worship together.
Until then, take care of yourself… and try not to panic if you misplace your phone—we’ll get through it
