“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
Dear Church Family,
This is Pastor Sophia.
Here we are in the middle of the week. Some of us are still moving forward with energy, while others are already wondering how it became this exhausting by Wednesday. (Yes—coffee definitely counts as a spiritual gift this week.)
Wherever you are right now, I invite you to pause for just a moment and take a breath. God meets us exactly where we are—at our desks, in our kitchens, in traffic, and even in those places where we feel a little worn down.
In moments like this, we may want to ask God a simple but important question:
“Lord, what do You really require of us?”
Scripture reminds us that God does not ask for complicated performances or impossible achievements. God does not demand perfection or constant busyness. Instead, God calls us back to what truly matters: to act justly, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with God.
This calling meets us right in the middle of everyday life—in our routines, our conversations, our decisions, and even our struggles. God’s requirements are not heavy burdens; they are invitations into a life shaped by love. Justice begins when we notice those who are overlooked. Kindness grows when we choose compassion over convenience. Humility takes root when we walk with God, not ahead of God.
Sometimes we may wonder whether these small, faithful choices really matter. Scripture assures us that they do. God often works through ordinary acts of faithfulness more than through dramatic moments. When we live the way God requires, God’s love, justice, and peace begin to flow through our actions—quietly, steadily, and powerfully.
As we move toward Sunday, I invite you to carry this simple prayer with you:
“Lord, help me live today in the way You require of me.”
It may seem like a small prayer—but God delights in prayers like this. God has made us Christ family to do the action of justice, offer kindness, and walk humbly with God.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday, whether virtually or in person when the weather allows, as we continue to listen for God’s voice and walk this faithful path together.
With gratitude and hope,
—
