Dear Church Family,
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
I am Pastor Sophia. Have you ever found yourself in a family argument where no one wants to say, “I’m sorry”? Maybe it started with something small—like whether to buy 2% or whole milk—and before you knew it, it turned into a full-blown blame game. We’ve all been there. Sometimes, the deeper wounds behind a trivial issue causes families to stumble.
From the beginning, God designed family to be a place of connection, love, and shared life with God. In Genesis 2, we see that beautiful vision—two people, side by side, united in God. In this beautiful family, blame replaces blessing, and shame replaces intimacy. That same spirit of blame still echoes through many homes today.
Church, there is hope. Jesus came to restore what’s broken in our homes. He invites us to build our families on five strong beams: Christ as our covering, deep fellowship at our table, worship in our daily rhythms, and God’s kingdom as our foundation.
Recently, I visited my elderly parents. I found why God sent me to visit them. To cook…not only for their bodies but also their spirits. I cooked simple meals for my parents and had communion with them. My father, who has dementia, took my mother’s hand, and with deep sincerity said, “Thank you… and I’m sorry.” Then he prayed for healing her back. In that sacred moment, I saw God do what no lecture or argument could do—He brought grace into the ordinary. God brought a glimpse of this restoration in my own family.
Church! Healing doesn’t begin with perfection. It begins with humility. It begins with that simple prayer: “Jesus, be the Master of this home.”
So here’s my invitation to you: Tonight, gather at your table. Hold hands if you can. Say “I’m sorry” if you need to. And pray together around your dinner table with this word.
“Jesus, be the Master of our home.”
Let God be your foundation. Let love replace blame. Let grace overflow in your living room, your kitchen, your hallway, and your conversations.
Continuously, this week, we will meditate on how to cut off the spirit of favoritism and division through Isaac’s family. Please join our healing service.
May your home be filled with forgiveness, peace, and laughter that echoes heaven. Amen
